Sharpen the blade

Since a dull ax requires great strength, sharpen the blade. That’s the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed.

Ecclesiastes 10:10 (NLT)

It has been said that wisdom is the application of knowledge and many times in our lives we find ourselves exerting great strength because we are not applying the wisdom we possess.  Have you ever been told you are working too hard and you need to work smarter?  I have, but does this mean hard work is bad?  No, not at all.  There is nothing wrong with hard work, but there is something wrong with not applying the wisdom that God has given us to accomplish the work that He has given us.  In my case the wisdom I need to apply is letting go and delegating responsibility to others.  I am no longer in a position to have an attitude that says, “I’ll do it myself.”  If I keep doing everything myself I will only burn out from exerting great strength.  So my question to you, what wisdom do you need to apply today?
